  • Blue Runner Jambalaya
  • Some say the word “jambalaya” is a combination of the French word for ham, “Jambon,” combined with “aya,” the African word for rice.” Others say it comes from the Atakapa Indian phrase, “Sham, pal ha! Ya!” which means “Be full, not skinny! Eat Up!” And some believe is it is based on the Provençal word ‘jambalaia’, which means “a mishmash or rabble”–which pretty much describes the dish itself. There are plenty of theories out there–all fun to discuss around the dinner table.

So who invented jambalaya? There are lots of theories about that, too. All we know is Blue Runner reinvented it with this convenient–and delicious–Creole Jambalaya Base. That means, less chopping and more enjoying.

    Shake can before opening.

In a saucepan, bring Blue Runner® Creole Jambalaya base to a boil.

Combine 1 cup uncooked rice, 1 pound chopped sausage, ham, precooked chicken, or seafood.

Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Go git you some cher'.
