Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Boil the pasta, then strain.
Coat the bottom of a casserole dish with a thin layer of butter so the macaroni does not stick.
In layers place the macaroni, the salt and pepper, then a layer of cheese. Repeat layers until done.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and half and half.
Pour mixture over the entire macaroni dish.
Cut about 1/4 stick of butter in little chunks and dot the top of the dish.
Bake in oven for 35 minutes.
