Fried Thanksgiving Turkey
Instructions:
Step 1 Completely thaw turkey and remove all innards.
Step 2 Mix salt with enough water to cover the turkey in a pot or bucket large enough to fit it.
Step 3 Place turkey in brine and put bucket in refrigerator overnight.
Step 4 Put enough peanut oil in a large pot to cover turkey, about 2 1/2 to 3 gallons, and heat oil to 350 degrees.
Step 5 Remove turkey from brine and pat dry.
Step 6 Generously rub turkey with salt and pepper.
Step 7 Carefully lower the turkey into pot, cook for 3 1/2 minutes per pound.
Step 8 Remove turkey from oil and let cool before carving for 25 minutes.

- 1 Turkey
- 2 1/2 gallons Peanut oil
- 1 1/2 cups salt (for brine)
- 1 Tbsp Salt, or to taste
- 1 Tbsp pepper
